The unit is designed to provide aeration in small ponds as well as de-icing for stock tanks where there is no power available to run traditional air pumps. This unit incorporates the use of an efficient DC air pump coupled with a small photovoltaic module.

Each day as the sun rises in the east, the PV module sends air "NOT ELECTRIC" to the aerator pump which in turn delivers air through an air hose "this is routed thru copper coils" inside the pump to the one-way valve located at the bottom of the tank. The air is bubbled up from the bottom of the tank or pond throughout the day until the sun sets in the evening.

De-icing occurs during the winter months once the stock tank or pond freezes over. The frozen ice on the surface acts as an insulator to the water below the surface. During the daytime, the SP-Bubbly activates, bubbling up the warmer water from the bottom of the tank melting a hole in the ice large enough for livestock or wildlife to drink from, thus eliminating the need for continual ice-breaking in the winter months.

This unit is designed for quick and easy installation. The unit is shipped pre-assembled, the only necessary steps are to secure the unit to a post adjacent to the pond or tank utilizing the provided straps, and drop the one-way air valve into the water. It is wise to locate the PV assembly high enough on the post and fastening the excess air hose to the post to lessen the chance of livestock tampering with the unit.

This product works very well as long as the sun is shining. We are using it in a 6'round stock tank in Montana. After 3 years, we are pleased with its performance. We used to run propane heater on the tank, but now only have to use propane for once or twice during the winter months. This is only when we have 4 or 5 cloudy days in a row. Otherwise this system works great in keeping the tanks open for livestock. Once installed it is maintenace free. This is a great product, and we highly recommend it.
