Take your measurements while wearing your clothes that you will normally wear with the chaps. It is probably best to have another person take the measurements. Use a soft measuring tape. Pull the tape so that it is comfortable on your leg, not to tight and not to loose.
Zipper Leg Chaps Take your measurements while wearing the clothing that you will normally wear with the chaps. It is probably best to have another person take the measurements. Use a soft measuring tape. They are available at most fabric stores or drugstores. Pull the tape so that it is comfortable on your leg, not too tight and not to loose. The zipper leg chaps are not adjustable in the leg like the buckle let chaps. You may want to leave some room for long underwear, extra clothing, etc. You may also have a preference for a tighter or looser fitting leg. Since we do not want to guess at how you want your chaps to fit, we request that you tell us the exact measurement that you prefer. If you take a tight measurement, the chaps will be difficult to zip b/c we will make them to the exact measurements provided. To provide us with the correct leg measurement on all zipper leg chaps, we suggest that you leave the tape as loose as you want the chaps to fit and provide us with this measurement.
1.Hip-Take the measurement at the base of the beltloops. This measurement can be fairly snug. This measurement will be approximately 4" larger than the waist size of your pants.
2.Upper-Thigh-Measure around the uppermost and largest point of the thigh at the crotch. You may want to leave the tape a little looser if you are measuring for a zipper leg chap.
3.Mid-Thigh-Measure half way between the upper thigh and the center of the knee. You may want to leave the tape a little looser if measuring for a zipper leg chap.
4.Knee-measure at the center of the knee. You may want to leave the tape a little looser if measuring for a zipper leg chap.
5. Calf-Measure at the largest part of the calf with boots on. You may want to leave the tape a little looser if measuring for a zipper leg chap. We recommend adding 2" to a snug measurement for a western style shotgun chap so that the chaps can slide up and down at this point without restriction.
6.Outseam-Measure from the lower edge of the belt to the ground.
7.Inseam-Measure from the crotch to the ground with boots on.
8.Thigh to knee-Measure from the crotch to the center of the knee.
